Job Title Director of Development, Health and Human Development Classification Administrator II Auto Req. ID 552883 Salary Range Classification Range $5,053 - $16,221 per month (Hiring range depending on qualifications, not anticipated to exceed $7,600 - $9,300 per month) Work Schedule Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; occasional early morning, evening and/or weekend hours. Overview Joining Cal State Fullerton’s College of Health and Human Development, this director role focuses on major gift fundraising, cultivating donors, and building sustainable philanthropy to support health and human development programs.
Department College of Health and Human Development (HHD) – interdisciplinary college fostering research, service, and education in health, well‑being, and quality of life. Duties and Responsibilities Reporting to the Assistant Vice President and working with the Dean, the Director leads all major gift activities, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospects across corporate, foundation, alumni, parent, faculty, and emeritus categories. With a portfolio of approximately 125 prospects, the Director oversees donor lifecycle management, creates strategic fundraising plans, and collaborates campus partners to align private and public support.
Additional duties include coordinating fundraising events and providing expertise to faculty and program staff. Inclusive Leadership Statement Defines inclusive leadership to foster diverse perspectives. Illustrates experience working with individuals of differing perspectives.
Describes personal or professional impact of inclusion issues. Essential Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 3–5 years of major‑gift fundraising experience. Ability to solicit and secure gifts of at least $25,000.
Knowledge of university culture and ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and volunteers. Experience coordinating fundraising events. Strategic planning skills with assessment for progress.
Frequent travel for cultivation and solicitation. Proficiency in general office software and donor database systems. Preferred Qualifications Higher‑education fundraising experience.
Familiarity with health and human development departments or healthcare fundraising. Advanced degree (preferred). Licenses / Certifications A valid California driver’s license.
