Overview Registered Nurse (Transitional Graduate Nurse) – Villa Caritas. Villa Caritas is Alberta’s only standalone geriatric psychiatric care facility, offering inpatient support such as therapy, transition-of-care planning, social work and more to seniors with mental health needs. Located in west Edmonton, the centre provides a patient-centered environment focused on holistic care and interdisciplinary assessments to support patients’ journey and quality of life.
The role supports team-based care and adapts communication to meet changing needs while delivering compassionate care. This posting will be used to fill 10 Temporary Full-Time Positions. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care as a Transition Graduate Nurse (TGN) under supervision until ready to independently assume full RN or RPN practice.
Conduct holistic assessments, develop and implement care plans, coordinate interdisciplinary care, and contribute to health system improvement. Work in diverse settings, including acute care, continuing care, community health and specialty programs, adhering to legislative requirements and professional codes of ethics. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Graduated from an accredited nursing education program.
Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Health Care Provider (BCLS HCP). Eligibility restricted to Graduate Nurses, Graduate Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Nurses and Registered Psychiatric Nurses who have graduated within 12 months prior to start date and who have not yet obtained a regular position with AHS, Covenant Health, or Recovery Alberta.

Preference given to candidates with completed preceptorship on a Mental Health unit, current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training, and experience with Connect Care.
