Overview

In this Account Director role you will steward a portfolio of blue‑chip clients, guiding retention, profitability and strategic growth. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align service delivery with client expectations and expand opportunities across service lines. You’ll build trusted relationships, lead negotiations and shape future offerings in a dynamic events environment.

Responsibilities
  • Create an account strategy to drive sales across owned accounts and communicate activity to service delivery teams
  • Plan and conduct regular review meetings with key accounts to identify continuous improvement and ensure high client satisfaction
  • Build and maintain internal team relationships through mentoring and supporting operational teams
  • Develop venues/destinations knowledge and track industry trends; participate in trainings, site visits, and events
  • Maintain and grow customer base through relevant propositions, roadshows, events, and supplier showcases
  • Identify growth opportunities within accounts and recommend strategic next steps for long‑term profitability across service lines
Key requirements
  • Strong proven experience in client/account management within the meetings and events industry
  • Proven track record in client negotiation
  • Experience in managing suppliers, sourcing, and negotiating contract services
  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills including public speaking, client pitches/presentations and RFP leadership
  • Ability to lead and develop teamwork, collaboration, and drive results through others
  • Ability to identify customer needs, listen actively, ask probing questions, and craft solutions
