Job Description

Director of Training is responsible for the implementation and delivery of sales training and continuing education training for the Human Health sales division to ensure maximum effectiveness of the sales force. Develops and administers all necessary training during new hire orientation to ensure successful onboarding and nesting of new salespeople. Indirectly supervises the sales employees within the Human Health department.

Maintains constant communication with Human Health Sales VP regarding employees’ direct work.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct new hire orientation on prevalent topics of sales presentations, products, internal processes, and technology training.
  • Oversee and mentor new hires during nesting period into position.
  • Create, manage, and organize training and development activities for the sales team employees on subject areas of company culture, product knowledge, and selling process and techniques.
  • Established procedures and guidelines for assessing the quality of training and makes high-level changes if standards and company culture are not met or skill or knowledge gaps are identified.
  • Use sales performance in the department to assess skills gap analyses to identify training needs per individual. Develop individual coaching plans for sales team members. Keep a log of the assessment and document gaps.
  • Monitor, document, and measure training effectiveness to ensure current programs best respond to the needs of the company.
  • Develops teaching aids such as training manuals, multimedia visual aids, reference works, and sales scripts.
  • Responsible for call review coaching sessions, documenting employees’ performance consistently to ensure they are exceeding expectations.
  • Works closely with management to interpret business data and use information appropriately to identify training needs and deliver the curriculum to drive desired behaviors and outcomes.
  • Responsible for the e-learning ADP site for Human Health (register, cancel, and run reports).
  • Creates, maintains, and updates all process (SOP) documents including system/platform manuals for sales staff.
  • Use CRM (Workd) daily to monitor database, reporting, building dashboards, forecasting, pipeline management.
  • Main point of contact for NetSuite, Vonage, IT and other platforms issues.
  • Aids in resolving operational issues such as; customer order delivery delays; communications with the Operations team and warehouse; product availability and pricing; credit and finance issues; website.
  • Develops internal and external marketing materials.Creates weekly promotions, and sales specials. Maintains data to track success of promotions and sales.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Actively attends job fairs to recruit new sales employees and completes aspects of new hire interviewing such as the planning and evaluation process.
  • Attends annual trade shows as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Indirectly supervises the sales employees within the Human Health department. Maintain constant communication with Human Health Sales VP regarding employees directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Responsibilities include recruiting Human Health candidates and interviewing and hiring aspects.
  • Oversees office and remote Sales Representatives productivity and provides coaching/feedback on an ongoing basis.

Other Functions

  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
  • Assists with related special projects as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent of four to six years related experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating sales teams.
