Community Services Manager

We are recruiting for a Community Services Manager within our Consultancy team.

The role:

ActionRenewablesislookingforaCommunityServicesManagertohelpgrowanddeliveritsconsultancyservices.

Thisrolecombines:

• Technicalexpertiseinrenewableenergyandsustainability
• Commercialawarenesstodevelopnewopportunities

The successful candidate will help organisations reduce carbon emissions while also supporting the growth of consultancy services. This includes delivering projects, building client relationships, and identifying new work.

This role suits someone with community or client-facing experience who wants more responsibility in shaping services and influencing organisational direction.

SpecificareasofongoingworkincludesupportingtheUK-wideEnergyLearningNetworkandhelpingto growcommunityenergysupportservices,includingenergyaudits,feasibilitystudiesandpracticaldecarbonisationsupportforclients.

Hours of work

• 37.5hoursperweek
• Dailyhoursofworkare09:0017:00,MondaytoFriday
• Opportunitytoworkfromhomeuptotwodaysperweek(non-contractual)

Reporting Line

Reporting to Head of Projects

Key responsibilities:

Developingconsultancyservicesandincome

• Identifynewconsultancyopportunitiesalignedwithorganisationalgoals
• Supporttenders,proposalsandfundingapplications
• Help develop and expand community services, including energy audits, feasibility studies, decarbonisation planning and activities associated with the UK-wide Energy Learning Network

Clientandstakeholderengagement

• Buildandmaintainstrongrelationshipswithclientsandstakeholders
• Actasakeycontact,ensuringhigh-qualityservice
• Identifyopportunitiestoexpandexistingclientrelationships
• Representtheorganisationateventsandindustryforums

Projectdeliveryandtechnicalinput

• Provideexpertiseonrenewableenergyanddecarbonisation
• Lead and deliver community projects to a high technical standard, including energy audits and feasibility studies
• Overseereportwriting,includingdataanalysisandinterpretation
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and meet objectives

TeamLeadership&OrganisationalContribution

• Assist in developing the consultancy function

EssentialCriteria:

• Degree(Level6)inarelevantsubjectsuchasengineering,energyorenvironmentalscience
• Atleasttwoyearsofprojectmanagementexperienceinacommunityorclient-facingrole
• Strongunderstandingofrenewableenergy,energyefficiencyordecarbonisation
• Experiencesupporting bids,tenders or proposals
• Experiencemanagingorsupportingasmallteam
• Abilitytodeliverhigh-qualityprojectoutputs
• Strong analytical skills,including working withdata to produceinsights
• ProficiencyinExcelandothersoftwareforreportinganddecision-making
• Strongcommunicationskills,includingreport writingand stakeholderengagement
• Ability to work independently and take initiative

Desirable Criteria:

• Experienceofdevelopingclientrelationshipsandidentifyingopportunitiesfornewwork
• KnowledgeoftheenergymarketinNorthernIreland,GreatBritainortheRepublicofIreland
• Existing network in the energy or sustainability sector

Salary

The post is permanent and offers a salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum depending on experience.

Pension

3% employer contribution, rising to 8% after 2 years of service.
