Financial Reporting Accountant

Overview

As Financial Reporting Accountant, you will ensure accurate financial reporting for UK and Isle of Man entities while contributing to a strengthened control environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to refine processes, implement reporting improvements in Dynamics 365 BC, and leverage AI tools to reduce manual work. Your role supports stakeholders through monthly consolidation, statutory reporting, and tax compliance, shaping the efficiency and reliability of finance operations.

• Prepare monthly consolidated management accounts and statutory reporting
• Maintain core accounting records within Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Covenant monitoring and reporting to external finance providers
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and UK/IOM corporate tax returns
• Support development of robust financial controls
• Identify and deliver automation opportunities in the reporting cycle, including AI tools
• Develop and improve reporting outputs from Business Central and other tools
• Serve as finance point of contact for system and data queries
• Liaise with external auditors
• Contribute to ad hoc projects
• Train and mentor junior staff

• ACA or ACCA qualified with 1–3 years PQE in financial reporting
• Strong Excel skills; Power BI or similar reporting tools experience
• Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred; open to related ERP systems
• Open to using AI in day-to-day work (e.g., Claude, Microsoft Copilot)
• Process-improvement mindset and ability to automate manual tasks
• Good judgement on tool use with strong data confidentiality and controls
• Ability to adapt to a varied, deadline-driven environment
