Backend Software Engineer II (Java Backend) – Bengaluru

The Role

• We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer II with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, AWS, and Backend System Design to join our engineering team.
• You will work closely with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Software Engineers, and Data Engineers to build scalable backend platforms and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Build and maintain APIs, tools, and platform capabilities that centralize and process high-volume data events.
• Contribute to system design and architecture discussions.
• Implement cloud-native solutions using AWS services.
• Improve development processes, automation, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production support activities.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8/11/17+).
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and RESTful APIs.
• Experience building Microservices-based applications.
• Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, CloudWatch, and API Gateway.
• Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

System Design Expectations

• Ability to design scalable backend services and APIs.
• Experience participating in architecture and system design discussions.
• Knowledge of database design, service integrations, and performance optimization.
• Ability to evaluate technical trade-offs and recommend practical solutions.
