Job Title: Placement Officer – Somaiya School of Design

About the Role

Somaiya School of Design, a constituent school of Somaiya Vidyavihar University, is hiring a Placement Officer to build and lead campus placement operations for our design graduates. This is a newly created, high-impact role for someone who can translate strong industry relationships into real placement outcomes for students entering the design profession.

What You'll Do

● Develop and grow relationships with recruiters and industry bodies in the design/creative sector

● Organize campus placement drives, internships, observerships, apprenticeships, and industry projects

● Provide one-on-one career counseling and placement support to students

● Design and deliver employability enhancement training (resume building, interview prep, aptitude training)

● Coordinate between students, faculty, and recruiters for smooth placement cycles

● Maintain accurate records of placements, company interactions, and training programs

● Track alumni for referrals and long-term industry networking

● Prepare placement MIS and reports for leadership review

● Promote the institution's brand via digital channels, brochures, and corporate visits

● Organize pre-placement talks and employer branding sessions

What We're Looking For

● Bachelor's degree required; Master's in HR or Marketing preferred

● 4–5 years of experience in campus recruitment, corporate HR, career services, training & development, corporate relations, or career counseling

● Prior experience in an academic institution or training agency is a strong plus

● Certifications in career counseling, campus recruitment, soft-skills training, or HR/recruitment are a bonus (not mandatory)
