Systems Accountant

As part of our Business Transformation program, we are implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and are seeking a technically minded Systems Accountant with a passion for systems, data, and process improvement to join our finance team at Eagle Farm on a full-time, onsite basis.

Joining during the implementation phase, the Systems Accountantwill quickly build an understanding of the approved solution and play a key role in supporting the remaining delivery activities, including finance testing, data validation, controls, reporting, cutover and go-live readiness.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role will work closely with the CFO, Finance, IT, and operational stakeholders. You will play a key role in maintaining and optimising financial systems (specifically Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central), ensuring data integrity, and enhancing reporting capabilities across the business.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Maintain and support accounting systems and related applications to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance
• Work with Solutions Delivery Manager to perform configuration, testing, validation, and support of system upgrades, enhancements, and changes.
• Ensure the integrity, quality, and consistency of financial data across multiple systems and reporting outputs.
• Support month-end and year-end processes by ensuring system outputs reconcile accurately to the general ledger.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance standard and ad hoc financial reports using ERP systems, Excel, and Power BI.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and reporting efficiencies.
• Document system processes, controls, data flows, and user guides.
• Provide support and troubleshooting assistance to finance system users across the National business.
• Assist with the maintenance and enhancement of internal controls embedded within financial systems.
• Support audits, system reviews, and control testing through the provision of data and reporting analysis.
• Contribute to finance transformation initiatives and projects involving system and data enhancements.

Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

• Hands on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience.
• Demonstrated experience developing and executing finance UAT scenarios.
• Degree qualified in Accounting, Business or Commerce discipline.
• 3-5+ years' experience within a Financial Accountant, Systems Accountant, Finance Systems Analyst, or similar role.
• Experience supporting ERP systems, system implementations, upgrades, or process improvement initiatives.
• Strong understanding of general ledger structures, financial reporting, and accounting processes.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify data issues and implement practical solutions.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Some travel to depots may be required.
• Experience in industrial services, contracting, mining services or asset hire business.
• CPA or CA qualification, or working towards completion, will be highly regarded.
