About the Role

NCG is seeking a hands‑on and detail‑oriented Accountant to support the day‑to‑day financial operations of our growing multi‑entity business group.

This broad role combines operational and financial accounting, payroll, compliance, reconciliations, accounts payable and month‑end reporting. It is ideal for an accountant who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work and can manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day‑to‑day accounting transactions across multiple entities.
  • Prepare bank, supplier, customer and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies.
  • Oversee accounts payable and prepare weekly supplier payment runs.
  • Review supplier invoices, employee reimbursements and supporting documentation.
  • Allocate expenses accurately across projects, departments and cost centres.
  • Process employee and contractor payroll, including timesheets, leave, superannuation and payroll maintenance.
  • Prepare payroll tax, BAS and PAYG workpapers.
  • Complete month‑end reconciliations, intercompany recharges and intercompany account reconciliations.
  • Assist with management reporting, WorkCover and other compliance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate accounting, payroll and employee records.
  • Support year‑end audit and external accountant requests.
  • Contribute to finance process improvements and ad hoc operational projects.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

  • A degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Two to three years’ experience in an accounting or finance role.
  • Progressing toward CA/CPA
  • Good understanding of Australian accounting standards, BAS, GST and statutory compliance.
  • Experience using Xero is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Well‑developed organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Strong communication skills and a practical, problem‑solving approach.
