Laboratory Manager - Drilling Fluids

Location: Chennai

Department: R&D - Laboratory / Drilling Fluids Testing

Experience: 7 - 16 Years

CTC Range: 8 - 15 LPA

Qualification: M.Sc. (Chemistry)/B.E. (Chemical Engineering/Petrochemical Engineering)

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory testing and evaluation of drilling fluids using standard testing procedures and instruments.
• Conduct hot rolling, rheological, filtration, electrical stability, mud density, and aging tests for drilling fluids.
• Operate laboratory equipment such as roller ovens, viscometers, mixers, filtration units, aging cells, and weighing balances.
• Record, analyze, and document test results accurately in laboratory reports.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration and safe operation.
• Follow laboratory safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.
• Coordinate test activities independently, as the laboratory operates separately from the R&D facility.
• Provide technical support and share test data with internal teams when required.

Required Skills:

• Hands-on experience in drilling fluids testing (oil-based and water-based systems).
• Proficiency in laboratory instruments used for mud testing and analysis.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel as per job requirements.
