About the Job

The India Head of Finance Operations is responsible for leading all end-to-end finance operations and accounting activities across legal entities in the country.

The position ensures:

β€’ accuracy, completeness and compliance of financial statements,

β€’ strong governance, internal control and audit readiness,

β€’ operational excellence across Shared Services and local retained teams,

β€’ support to the India Head of Finance and senior leadership on statutory, technical accounting, tax, and treasury related matters.

The role guarantees the integrity of the financial data used for Group reporting, statutory accounts, tax filings, and key business decisions across markets.


Key Responsibilities

A. Financial Accounting & Statutory Reporting

β€’ Support the end-to-end accounting processes for all legal entities in India.

β€’ Ensure accurate and compliant production of monthly, quarterly, and annual IFRS, local GAAP and

statutory accounts.

β€’ Own the quality of group reporting submissions.

β€’ Coordinate preparation of statutory financial statements, tax packages, and annual filings.

β€’ Review and validate complex accounting treatments, contracts, and transactions.

β€’ Oversee local GAAP adjustments (payroll, pension, amortization, provisions, tax).

β€’ Manage actuarial processes and commitments (IFC, long-service awards, pre-retirement schemes).


B. Reporting

β€’ Ensure accurate, complete and timely preparation, loading and publication of all Group reporting

packages required by Finance Operations, including: Polo D1/D5 (Sales & Inventory), ISC uploads,

Marco Budget (preparation and loading), reconciliation between Marco and Solar, Solar package

(monthly and quarterly), TWIN reporting, Spring package, Trema report, MyTax reporting, TaxRisk

reporting.

β€’ Lead the preparation and submission of the FCT cashflow forecast in SAP FC, ensuring alignment

with Treasury requirements.

β€’ Oversee the preparation and submission of the Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR) in

collaboration with the Tax department.

β€’ Sign off SAP FC / SEAL reporting package for the legal entities under responsibility.


C. Audit, Governance & Compliance

β€’ Serve as the primary point of contact for statutory auditors and internal auditors.

β€’ Define audit scopes, coordinate missions, ensure timely resolution of findings.

β€’ Guarantee full compliance with internal and external accounting standards.

β€’ Ensure internal control framework effectiveness (including SOX, segregation of duties).

β€’ Deploy Group accounting procedures;

β€’ Listed entity oversight: Lead quarterly and annual closing activities, financial audits, and disclosures in compliance with SEBI LODR requirements including Related Party Compliances. Coordinate Board and Audit Committee reporting and presentations, including quarterly results, annual budgets, and related party transactions.

β€’ Tax audit: Lead the preparation, coordination, and timely submission of all documentation required for tax audits, ensuring completeness and accuracy, ensure oversight of all tax compliance activities performed by GBS, maintaining accountability for accuracy and completeness, particularly for OneERP countries


D. Collaboration with finance community

β€’ Ensure high-quality, timely, and compliant execution through GBS hubs

β€’ Build strong collaboration between GBS and finance teams in each country.


E. Business Partnership

β€’ Provide the Head of Finance and Regional Finance operations & A2R Head with financial analysis of the legal entities.

β€’ Support strategic projects:

o legal restructuring,

o acquisition/divestiture accounting,

o Capex evaluation,

o performance measurement and target achievement (e.g., bonus schemes).

β€’ Present revenue and performance analyses to social partners or workers' councils where required.

β€’ Partner with Supply Chain, Commercial Operations, Finance Performance, HR, Tax, Legal, and

Corporate.


F. People Leadership

β€’ Develop a team of finance professionals in India

β€’ Build capabilities for future-ready finance (automation, digital tools, data literacy).

β€’ Oversee recruitment, performance management, succession planning, and coaching.

β€’ Promote corporate values and a culture of accountability, cooperation, and continuous development.

β€’ Support HSE requirements where applicable.


G. Process Excellence, Systems & Transformation

β€’ Support continuous improvement and harmonization of accounting processes across countries.

β€’ Lead or contribute to Finance transformation initiatives:

o ERP changes,

o new digital tools (automation, workflow tools, BI),

o process standardization,

o M&A integration / carve-out.

β€’ Collaborate with Process & Systems teams to deploy tools for controllers and managers.

β€’ Ensure successful adoption of automation and new ways of working.


Expected Skills

Technical Skills

β€’ Strong technical expertise in IFRS, local GAAP , tax accounting, statutory reporting.

β€’ Deep understanding of end-to-end accounting and finance operations in multinational environments.

β€’ Experience working with Shared Services / GBS organizations.

β€’ Strong audit and internal controls background (SOX preferred).

β€’ Ability to review and challenge complex accounting topics.

Experience

β€’ 12–15+ years of increasing responsibility in Finance, Accounting, Audit, or Controlling.

Demonstrated experience in regulatory compliance and corporate governance, especially in the

context of Indian listed companies.

β€’ Experience in preparing financial presentations for Boards, Audit Committees, and investors,

including handling disclosure obligations under SEBI/LODR.

β€’ Familiarity with IFRS and Ind-AS accounting standards, and experience in using ERP systems (e.g.,

SAP) and financial reporting tools.

β€’ Proven track record in statutory reporting, closing processes, and audit management.

β€’ Experience in transformation programs is a strong plus.


Education

β€’ Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory; additional certifications such as CPA or ACCA will be considered an advantage
