Shelford Campus

Opening in 2027 in the heart of Caulfield, Shelford Campus willbe Caulfield Grammar School’s newest Junior School. The campus willinitially offer exceptional education for students in Prep andYears 4–6, before growing into a full Prep to Year 6 Junior School.This represents a once‑in‑a‑career opportunity for a foundingteaching team to shape the culture and community from the groundup, delivering high‑impact learning in an outstandingpurpose‑designed environment.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to help establish an inclusive,high-impact learning environment at our new Shelford Campus.

Reporting to the Head of Learning Strategies, the Junior SchoolLearning Strategies Teachers will work collaboratively withclassroom teachers to deliver a contemporary, evidence-informedLearning Strategies program that reflects the School's values andcommitment to excellence.

Working with students from Prep to Year 6, you will supportstudents across the full spectrum of learning needs, providingtargeted intervention, extension and enrichment opportunities thatenable every learner to thrive. Through personalised learning,small-group programs and in-class support, you will fosterconfidence, independence, curiosity and a strong sense of belongingwhile ensuring all students are appropriately challenged to achievetheir potential.

As a founding member of the Shelford team, you will play a keyrole in building an inclusive culture by partnering with teachersto embed effective differentiation and evidence-based teachingpractices that enhance learning outcomes for all students. You willcontribute to the development of personalised learning plans,monitor student progress, and help establish best practice in bothlearning support and extension across the campus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver targeted Learning Strategies programsacross the Junior School, supporting students with diverselearning needs.
• Design and implement differentiated learning experiencesaligned to curriculum requirements, incorporating contemporary,evidence‑based teaching practices.
• Support students through small group instruction,individual intervention and in‑class support to improvelearning outcomes.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment thatpromotes student wellbeing, engagement and confidence.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely andmeaningful feedback to support growth and development.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan and implementadjustments and inclusive teaching strategies.
• Contribute to the identification, assessment and support ofstudents with additional learning needs, including maintainingaccurate records and documentation.
• Support the development of individual learning plans andtargeted interventions based on student data and needs.
• Promote inclusive practices that support students fromdiverse linguistic, cultural and socio‑economicbackgrounds.
• Actively contribute to professional learning, collaborationand continuous improvement initiatives within the School.
• Demonstrate active involvement in School life, includingco‑curricular opportunities where appropriate.
• Uphold the School’s commitment to Child Safety, ensuringthe wellbeing, safety and dignity of all students at alltimes.
• Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values andbehaviours.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Teaching qualifications, with a preference for SpecialEducation or additional postgraduate study in learning supportor extension/enrichment.
• Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)registration.
• First Aid – Level 2 and Anaphylaxis qualifications (orwillingness to obtain).
• Demonstrated experience working with primary or juniorschool students with diverse learning needs.
• Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction, inclusiveeducation practices and learning intervention strategies.
• Understanding of curriculum, assessment and reportingrequirements, with the ability to adapt learningaccordingly.
• Experience supporting students across a range of abilities,including those with disability and additional learningneeds.
• Highly developed communication, organisational and timemanagement skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to buildpositive relationships with students, staff and the widerschool community.
• Commitment to collaboration, professional learning,reflective practice and continuous improvement.
• A passion for inclusive education and supporting studentsto achieve their full potential.
