Infrastructure Engineer

12-Month Government Contract + extensions.

Bridge IT Engineering is seeking multiple experienced Infrastructure Engineers to join a large Federal Government Department - The Infrastructure Engineers design, implement, manage and retire physical, virtual, network and cloud infrastructure supporting digital services. The role provides expert technical advice, maintains secure and reliable ICT platforms, works closely with suppliers and architecture teams, and leads improvements across complex operational environments.

Role Duties

• Assist with delivery of an optimal strategic system landscape
• Manage the design, installation and operation of the ICT system instance landscape, client and transport processes
• Provide broad technical support for project build, test and solution deployment activities
• Configure and manage all non-functional platform capabilities including job scheduling, output management, email, archiving, technical security, technical connectivity between software components
• Liaise with the infrastructure team in the design, procurement and deployment of hardware and related assets
• Manage technical operations for ICT solutions and interfaces
• Develop plans for backups and disaster recovery, and execute those plans when necessary
• Perform problem management and root cause analysis
• Lead and manage operations of a team, including overseeing work priorities and resource management
• Proactively share knowledge and expertise as the subject matter expert, and provide assistance and mentorship to less experienced colleagues
• Collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve project outcomes
• Attend meetings and forums with vendors to influence business outcomes and share information
• Prepare and review a range of technical documentation and reports

Technical skills

• Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining multiple integrated non-production environments.
• Demonstrated experience working in a containerised Linux environment.
• Knowledge of M204 and SOUL.
• Demonstrated experience delivering complex changes in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
