Senior Presales Consultant

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Azure Presales Consultant to join our team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will work closely with sales, delivery, and partner teams to design and present compelling cloud solutions for prospective clients. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise in Microsoft Azure and consultative selling skills, with the ability to lead client engagements from opportunity qualification through to solution sign-off.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Engagement & Solution Design

• Engage with prospective clients to understand business challenges and translate them into Azure based cloud solutions.
• Design and present solution architectures for Azure IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid cloud environments
• Prepare Azure TCO analyses, sizing estimates, and pricing proposals using Azure Calculator and related tools
• Develop technical proposals, RFP/RFI responses, and Statements of Work (SOW)
• Conduct product demonstrations, technical workshops, and proof-of-concept (PoC) engagements
• Collaborate with sales teams to qualify opportunities and build a strong technical pipeline
• Support landing zone design, migration planning, and managed services scoping
• Stay current with Azure service updates, certifications, and competitive positioning
• Engage with Microsoft partner teams and participate in co-sell motions
• Provide inputs for go-to-market strategies and service offerings

Required Qualifications: Experience & Education

• Experience: 5–8 years in IT, with at least 3 years in a cloud presales or solution architect role focused on Microsoft Azure
• Education: Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology.

Technical Skills

• Ability to design Azure architecture and should have worked on the Hub & Spoke Model
• Experience handling a minimum of two large-scale migration solution
• Strong knowledge of Azure core services: Compute: Virtual Machines, VMSS, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), App Services, Azure Batch
• Networking: VNet, ExpressRoute, Front Door, Application Gateway, Azure Firewall, Traffic Manager,
• Private Link, DNS Zones, VPN Gateway (S2S/P2S)
• Storage: Blob Storage, Azure Files, Azure NetApp Files, Managed Disks, Data Lake Storage Gen2
• Databases: Azure SQL (Managed Instance & Single DB), Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL Flexible Server, Azure Database for MySQL, Azure Cache for Redis
• Security: Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Key Vault, Azure DDoS Protection, Network Security Groups,
• Azure Policy, Microsoft Sentinel: Identity: Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management (PIM),
• RBAC, Multi-Factor Authentication:Monitoring & Observability: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Network Watcher,
• Azure Alerts, Workbooks & Dashboards:Hands-on experience with Azure Landing Zones (CAF-aligned), Azure Migrate, Azure Arc, and Azure
• Governance (Policy, Blueprints, Management Groups):Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools – Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates
• Experience with Azure DevOps (CI/CD Pipelines, Repos, Boards, Artifacts), GitHub Actions, and
• containerization using AKS and Azure Container Apps Familiarity with serverless architectures – Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Event Grid, Service Bus, and API
• Management (APIM)
• Hands-on experience with Azure Cost Management, Azure Advisor, Azure Reservations, Savings Plans, and Azure Pricing Calculator for TCO/ROI analysis
• Understanding of hybrid cloud architectures using Azure Stack HCI, Azure Arc-enabled servers, and
• ExpressRoute/VPN configurations

Certifications (Required – at least one)

Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)

Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure Managed Services scoping and SLA frameworks
• Knowledge of Azure security and compliance (Azure Security Center, Defender, Sentinel)
• Exposure to SAP on Azure or enterprise application workloads
• Familiarity with AWS or multi-cloud environments
• Prior experience in a cloud consulting or professional services company
• Additional certifications: AZ-500 (Security), AZ-700 (Networking), SC-100 (Cybersecurity Architect), or FinOps Certified Practitioner
