Your opportunity

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and motivated Senior Accountant to join our high‑performing Finance team. If you're passionate about delivering accurate, high‑quality financial outcomes in a purpose‑driven organisation, we’d love to hear from you.

In this role, you’ll is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of our financial accounting, reporting, and compliance obligations. You’ll play a pivotal leadership role in our finance team, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to support informed decision‑making and organisational sustainability. This role supports the broader finance team and reports directly to the Head of Finance.

This is a full-time, permanent role, with a progression opportunity to become Financial Controller, based at our Bowen Hills office in Brisbane. Salary for this role is up to $140,000(depending on experience)plus Superannuation and Salary Packaging options to increase your take home pay.

About the Role

As our Senior Accountant, you’ll play a key role in ensuring Lives Lived Well has the strong financial foundations needed to deliver life-changing services across our communities. You'll lead our monthly financial reporting cycle, provide trusted advice to stakeholders, and help drive continuous improvement across our finance systems and processes.

• Lead the monthly close process, delivering accurate financial results and meaningful insights that support decision‑making across the organisation.
• Take ownership of key accounting areas including grant and contract revenue, payroll, assets, leases, cashflow, and balance sheet management.
• Support strategic planning through budgeting, forecasting, tender submissions, and financial analysis.
• Prepare and deliver monthly reporting, translating financial information into clear, actionable insights for leaders.
• Partner with operational teams to provide practical financial advice and support funding and grant compliance requirements.
• Oversee statutory reporting including financial acquittals, audits, and compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and regulatory obligations.
• Drive improvements to financial processes, systems, controls, and ways of working to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

About You

You’re a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys combining technical expertise with genuine business partnering. You can confidently navigate complex financial environments while building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

• CA or CPA qualified with substantial experience in senior financial accounting and reporting roles.
• Strong background in month‑end processes, balance sheet management, statutory reporting, and financial compliance.
• Experience working in complex organisations, ideally within the not‑for‑profit, health, community services, or government‑funded sectors.
• Solid understanding of Australian Accounting Standards, including grant funding, revenue recognition, lease accounting, and NFP reporting requirements.
• Confident communicator who can explain financial information clearly to non‑finance audiences.
• Skilled in ERP and finance systems, with a passion for process improvement and continuous improvement.
• Advanced Excel skills, strong attention to detail, and a natural ability to analyse, problem‑solve, and identify opportunities.
• Proactive, collaborative, and values‑driven, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes.
• Hold a current Queensland Driver Licence and be willing to complete a Criminal History and Financial Check.
