Job Description
Price Trandos Engineering is a proudly Western Australian-owned company established in 1992, specialising in the design, manufacture, testing, installation and maintenance of low-voltage (LV) and medium-voltage (MV) switchboards, motor control centres (MCCs), control panels and power distribution systems.
We deliver customised electrical solutions for commercial, industrial, mining, infrastructure, education and government projects across Australia. Due to continued business growth and an increasing number of complex engineering projects, we are seeking an experienced Engineering Technologist to join our engineering team.
About the Role
You will support the engineering design and production teams by applying electrical and electronic engineering technologies throughout the design, testing, manufacturing and commissioning of customised LV and MV switchboard systems.
Working closely with the design, production, and project teams, you will help ensure our products meet technical specifications, Australian Standards, and customer requirements, while contributing to continuous improvement across our engineering and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, development and modification of LV and MV switchboard systems and electrical assemblies.
- Analyse engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and technical specifications to support manufacturing and project delivery.
- Conduct testing, fault diagnosis and verification of electrical and electronic components.
- Assist with testing and commissioning activities to ensure products meet project specifications and relevant Australian Standards.
- Investigate technical issues during manufacturing and recommend practical engineering solutions.
- Liaise with engineering, production and project teams to support the implementation of engineering designs.
- Assist in preparing engineering documentation, Bills of Materials (BOMs) and other technical information required for production.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives relating to engineering technologies, manufacturing processes and product quality.
- Ensure compliance with company quality systems, workplace health and safety requirements, and relevant Australian Standards.
About You
- At least 3 years' relevant experience in electrical engineering, electronic engineering, switchboard manufacturing, or a related engineering environment.
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a closely related discipline.
- Sound understanding of electrical distribution systems, switchboards, protection devices and electrical control systems.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams and technical drawings.
- Experience in testing, troubleshooting and commissioning electrical equipment will be highly regarded.
- Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards for switchboards and electrical installations will be highly regarded.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering and production teams.
