Field Technician – Heavy Equipment Service

Putzmeister Oceania builds and supports the concrete pumping equipment that keeps major construction and mining projects moving across Australia. We are growing our Field Service team and are looking for a Field Technician to support customers with breakdowns, repairs, inspections, maintenance and commissioning work across our equipment range.

This is a hands‑on service role for someone who enjoys fault‑finding, customer contact and working independently in the field. The role will support work within the region and, where required, across other parts of Australia depending on customer needs and business growth.

In this role you will:

• Carry out field service work including diagnostics, repairs, maintenance and inspections on customer sites.
• Respond to breakdowns and unplanned service requests in line with business priorities and agreed response times.
• Use diagnostic tools, test equipment and service manuals to identify faults and complete repairs safely and efficiently.
• Complete service reports, job documentation and close‑out information accurately and on time.
• Represent Putzmeister Oceania professionally on site and communicate clearly with customers on job status and next steps.
• Assist with commissioning, start‑up support and operator familiarisation where required.
• Participate in any site‑required procedures relating to fitness for work assessments, inductions and safety compliance.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Holds a trade qualification in diesel, mechanical, auto electrical, plant or a related discipline, or has equivalent relevant experience.
• Has proven experience in field service or workshop roles on heavy equipment, pumps or similar machinery.
• Brings strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills and can work independently on customer sites.
• Has experience working on shotcrete machines and agitator trucks.
• Has a minimum of 5 years’ hard rock underground experience, preferably in mining service environments.
• Understands WHS obligations and safe work practices in field environments, including remote and construction sites.
• Is organised, reliable and comfortable managing travel, changing priorities and site‑based work.
• Holds a current driver’s licence and is willing to travel within the region and nationally as required.
