Job Overview
Senior Web Developer role based in Portland, OR or New York, NY office.
Informa's Aviation group, Aviation Week Network, seeks a highly experienced developer with strong skills in React and Node.js.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust, scalable, and maintainable web applications using JavaScript, React, and Node.js.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to define project requirements and deliver high‑quality solutions.
- Write clean, efficient, well‑documented code following industry best practices.
- Optimize application performance for fast load times and smooth user experiences.
- Implement and maintain API integrations with third‑party services and internal systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly to minimize disruption to end users.
- Participate in code reviews, offering constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to coding standards.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating them into development work as appropriate.
- Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications
- BS/BA in Computer Science, mathematics, or related field (experience may substitute for degree).
- 8+ years of experience in software development, focused on React and Node.js.
- Proven experience building and maintaining large‑scale web applications.
- In‑depth knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern front‑end frameworks.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and integrating front‑end interfaces with back‑end services.
- Strong understanding of Git and version control systems.
- Experience in Agile, fast‑paced development environments.
- Ability to translate organizational and user requirements into quality code.
- Excellent communication skills with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Creative problem‑solving ability and logical analysis skills.
- Capability to work independently on complex tasks with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Strong understanding of database systems (MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Expertise in microservices architecture.
- Advanced Python programming skills.
- Experience with PHP development.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: $120,000 – $140,000 per year, based on experience.
