The role

Where you’ll be working
Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 tertiary referral hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service, rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non‑admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care.
Selection criteria
- Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse or midwife
- Demonstrated recent clinical experience as a Registered Nurse that applies to a peri‑operative clinical setting
- High level written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others
- Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations
- Current computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems
- Ability to advocate for and implement person‑centred practice
- Application of evidence‑based practice and critical thinking to patient care
- Ability to effectively prioritise and organise own workload
