My client, a global technology organisation developing enterprise software solutions for highly regulated industries, is hiring a Senior QA Automation Engineer to join an established Agile engineering team based in Belfast. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of quality engineering practices, helping to shape automation strategy while working with modern testing frameworks, AI-assisted tooling, and cloud technologies.

You will be joining a high-performing engineering team responsible for delivering robust, scalable software solutions used by customers across global markets. Working closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts and Developers, you will champion quality throughout the software development lifecycle, driving automation, mentoring team members and helping deliver production-ready software every sprint.
As a Senior QA Automation Engineer, you will design, develop and maintain automated testing frameworks while integrating testing into modern CI/CD pipelines. You will build API, functional and end-to-end automated tests, utilise AI-assisted development tools to improve testing efficiency, and contribute to performance testing and quality engineering best practices.
You will also work closely with engineering teams to identify risks early, improve software quality, and help evolve the organisation's automation capability.
The Person
Extensive experience in QA Automation within Agile software development environments.
Strong experience with automation tools including Playwright, Selenium, Cypress or TestComplete.
Experience programming with Java, JavaScript or similar languages.
Proven experience designing and maintaining scalable automation frameworks.
Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI or TeamCity.
Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.
Strong API, functional and end-to-end testing experience.
Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve testing and automation workflows.
Good understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Quality Engineering principles.
Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
Experience with performance testing tools such as K6 or JMeter would be advantageous.
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS), microservices and modern software architectures would be beneficial.
Relevant software testing certification (ISTQB or equivalent) would be desirable.
