Position Overview
This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 3, 2026.
The School
Bunbury Senior High School (SHS) is perched on a hill overlooking both the cityscape of Bunbury and the extensive Bunbury beach front. It makes use of its location, extending the boundaries of the campus into the city, to provide students with a unique, rich learning experience in real world settings totally intertwined with the city itself. The Role
We are seeking an energetic and passionate Design and Technology teacher to join our high performing team. The successful applicant should ideally possess excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and be capable of delivering content in an engaging manner. They will provide students with a purposeful learning experience, tailored to develop student’s skills, knowledge and understanding in Technologies.
The successful applicant should be confident in teaching across Woodwork and Metalwork, with experience in the Senior School Design and Technology courses being highly regarded. The successful applicant should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective interaction with students, colleagues, and parents. Additionally, they should be highly effective team members, actively contributing to a positive culture of success where students are motivated to achieve their personal best.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school. Note that south west teachers are not eligible to move to another south west school under this trial.

Eligibility
- Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment. More information about employment eligibility can be found on our website.
- Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start.
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
