Overview
Join a leading Australian manufacturing business where your commercial insight will directly influence operational performance. We are partnering with a well-established manufacturing organisation seeking an experienced Manufacturing Accountant to become the key finance business partner for its inner north Brisbane production facility.
This is far more than a traditional accounting role. You'll work closely with manufacturing leaders, providing commercial insights, analysing production performance, improving costing accuracy and supporting strategic operational decisions across the site.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly manufacturing financial results and management reports
- Analyse production, labour and overhead variances
- Manage product costing and inventory valuation
- Review Bills of Materials (BOMs) and product cost structures
- Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
- Partner with production and operational leaders to improve plant performance
- Analyse manufacturing KPIs including labour utilisation, waste, yield and productivity
- Coordinate stocktakes, cycle counts and inventory controls
- Support capital expenditure reporting and fixed asset management
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance and manufacturing processes
About You
- CPA or CA qualification ideal, or extensive experience in similar roles
- Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong management accounting and financial analysis capability
- Experience with product costing, inventory accounting and manufacturing variances
- ERP systems experience (SAP, Dynamics 365, JD Edwards, Pronto or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to partner with operational stakeholders
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
