Position

Phys Ed Teacher – Temporary 2026-2027 school year, FTE: 1.0, Contract Type: Temporary, Division: Grande Prairie Public School Division, School: École Montrose, Assignment: Phys Ed. Applications will be accepted until a suitable candidate is found.

School Information

École Montrose is a Pre‑K to Grade 8 French Immersion center with a student population of approximately 700 students.

Qualifications

• Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate or eligibility to obtain one.
• Bachelor of Education Degree or equivalent recognized by Alberta Education.
• Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and lesson design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of student learning in a second language learning environment.

Demonstrated Skills And Competencies

• Fluent in French and English (both oral and written) is an asset.
• Experience with or knowledge of second language pedagogy.
• Commitment to reflective practice and lifelong learning.
• Ethic of service to students, colleagues and community.
• Confidence, skill, knowledge and understanding of differentiated instruction, student engagement and assessment practices.
• Strong interpersonal skills combined with the ability to create positive relationships and build rapport.
• Excellent communication skills.

• Commitment to fostering collaborative working relationships.
• Awareness and knowledge of the Alberta curriculum.
