Registered Nurse – Temporary Part-Time
Position Summary
As a member of an inter‑professional Health Care team, the Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of nursing care to medical/surgical/obstetrical and emergency patients. The RN is also required to provide supervision in the Charge Nurse role as scheduled.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Minimum of 2 years hospital experience to include cardiac, emergency care and acute care areas
- Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or commitment to obtain within 2 months
- Completed CTAS (Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale) course; or willingness to obtain
- Completed OBS training
- Current ACLS certification
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Meditech applications
- Experience in the role of Charge Nurse
- Ability to provide regular attendance
Preferred Certifications
- Current certifications in PALS, ATLS/TNCC, palliative care, ECG interpretation, and other continued nursing education
- Ability to function calmly in emergency situations; good public relations skills; good rapport with community, medical staff and co‑workers; self‑directed and motivated; flexible in daily work routines

- Knowledge of infection control and screening
- Proficiency in computer software applications – Microsoft Outlook; Meditech Order Entry, Pharmacy, Admitting, PCS, EMR; Up‑to‑date; Order Sets; Policy and Procedure; LMS; Patient Care Solution
- Proficiency in administrative duties
- Proficiency in Nurse‑in‑Charge duties
Starting Wage
$40.24 – $57.68 per hour based on experience
COVID‑19 Vaccination Requirement
All new hires will be required to provide proof of two (2) doses of the COVID‑19 vaccine as a pre‑condition of employment. Exceptions may be made for individuals who are unable to receive a COVID‑19 vaccine for legislative protected reasons (e.g., medical exemption).
