We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Analyst at the Vice President (C13) level to join our OTC Derivatives Settlements team in Mississauga, Canada. This is a critical role that bridges business strategy and technology delivery within a fast‑paced, high‑volume derivatives environment. The ideal candidate is a self‑starter who thrives in collaborative settings and brings deep domain expertise, sharp analytical thinking, and outstanding interpersonal skills to the table.

Driving Transformation

We are currently undergoing significant transformation efforts to move to a target operating model. We need an energetic team player to drive this effort, collaborate closely with the team, and help shape the future of our OTC Derivatives Settlements operations. If you thrive on change and want to make a lasting impact, this is your opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary business analyst for OTC Derivatives Settlements, translating complex business requirements into clear, actionable functional specifications.
  • Partner with front office, operations, technology, and risk teams to analyze settlement workflows, identify gaps, and drive process improvements.
  • Lead requirements gathering sessions, workshops, and stakeholder interviews to capture end‑to‑end business needs.
  • Develop detailed business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, user stories, and process flow diagrams.
  • Analyze trade lifecycle events across OTC derivative products (Interest Rate Swaps, Credit Default Swaps, FX Derivatives, Equity Derivatives, etc.) to support settlement accuracy and efficiency.
  • Proactively identify operational risks, data quality issues, and system gaps; propose and champion solutions.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to define acceptance criteria and support UAT execution and sign‑off.
  • Track project milestones, manage deliverables, and communicate progress clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for OTC settlement processes, industry standards (ISDA, DTCC, MarkitWire), and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

Domain Knowledge

  • Deep expertise in OTC Derivatives products and their full trade lifecycle, with a strong focus on settlements (cash settlement, physical settlement, netting, fails management).
  • Solid understanding of industry infrastructure: DTCC/DTCC Deriv/SERV, MarkitWire, SWIFT, and related platforms.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks impacting OTC derivatives (Dodd‑Frank, EMIR, Basel III).

Analytical Skills

  • Exceptional ability to analyze large, complex datasets and translate findings into actionable business insights.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, or equivalent); experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Strong root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving capabilities in high‑pressure, time‑sensitive environments.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Personable, approachable, and skilled at building trusted relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to facilitate cross‑functional discussions and drive consensus among diverse stakeholder groups.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Self‑driven and proactive — able to independently manage priorities and deliver results with minimal supervision.
  • Strong team player who fosters a collaborative, inclusive, and high‑performance team culture.
  • Experience mentoring junior analysts and contributing to team capability development.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Computer Science, or related field; MBA or CFA designation is an asset.

Experience

  • 6‑10 years in financial services, with at least 5 years focused on OTC Derivatives in a Business Analyst or related capacity.

Delivery Methodology

  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum delivery environment.

Project Management

  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (PMP, Prince2) is advantageous.

Location and Compensation

  • Primary Location: Mississauga, Canada.
  • Full‑time salary range: $120,800.00 – $170,800.00.
