Location: Cidade Monções, São Paulo, Brazil
Work Arrangement: Five days onsite
Travel Requirement: No regular travel required

Role Overview
We are looking for a Finance Compliance Specialist based in São Paulo, Brazil. This role will support financial compliance, accounting, tax reporting, audit coordination, regulatory data reporting, and account reconciliation activities across Brazil, Mexico, the United States, and other key Latin American markets.
The ideal candidate will have 3–8 years of professional experience in finance, accounting, audit, tax, or compliance. The candidate must be fluent in both Portuguese and English and comfortable working closely with stakeholders in Brazil, mainland China, and Hong Kong across different time zones.
Experience as an auditor, or substantial experience coordinating with internal or external auditors, is required. Knowledge of Brazilian taxation, including differences in tax requirements across Brazilian states, will be considered a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and support compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, statutory requirements, and reporting obligations across Brazil, the United States, Mexico, and other key Latin American jurisdictions.
- Participate in corporate compliance activities, including external regulatory filings, statutory data submissions, financial data reporting, and other compliance-related declarations.
- Prepare, review, and coordinate the filing of statutory financial statements, tax returns, regulatory reports, and other required submissions in accordance with applicable local laws.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, responding to audit inquiries, providing explanations, and coordinating with relevant internal stakeholders.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisers, tax authorities, legal counsel, and other external service providers regarding audits, compliance matters, and regulatory inquiries.
- Monitor changes in financial, accounting, tax, and compliance regulations and assess their potential impact on company operations.
- Collaborate with regional and global finance teams to implement and improve finance compliance policies, internal controls, and operating procedures.
- Identify financial and compliance risks and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of compliance activities, regulatory submissions, audit documentation, and supporting materials.
- Conduct detailed reconciliations of key accounts, investigate discrepancies, and ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Provide support for tax-related matters, where required, including research and coordination regarding Brazilian federal, state, and municipal tax requirements.
- Work closely with local Portuguese-speaking stakeholders and communicate in English with teams and stakeholders in mainland China and Hong Kong.
- Participate in meetings and complete business-critical tasks across Brazil–China time zones when necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Taxation, or a related field.
- 3–8 years of relevant professional experience in financial compliance, accounting, audit, tax, or a related finance function.
- Previous professional experience as an auditor, or hands-on experience coordinating internal or external audit processes.
- Practical experience participating in corporate compliance activities, such as regulatory reporting, external data submissions, statutory filings, or similar compliance work.
- Experience or exposure to multi-country finance operations, preferably involving Brazil, Latin America, the United States, mainland China, or Hong Kong.
- Familiarity with Brazilian accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of local GAAP and/or IFRS applicable to Latin American jurisdictions.
- Professional fluency in spoken and written Portuguese, as the role will work directly with local Brazilian stakeholders.
- Professional fluency in spoken and written English, as the role will communicate with stakeholders in mainland China and Hong Kong.
- Willingness and ability to work five days onsite in Cidade Monções, São Paulo.
- Willingness and ability to accommodate frequent cross-time-zone collaboration between Brazil and China.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver accurate work in a fast-paced and cross-cultural environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling or supporting tax-related work in Brazil.
- Understanding of Brazilian federal, state, and municipal tax systems, including differences in tax regulations and requirements across Brazilian states.
- CPA, CRC, or an equivalent professional accounting or audit certification.
- Experience working for an audit firm or in an internal audit, finance compliance, or controllership function.
- Experience working with companies operating across both Latin America and Asia.
- Familiarity with compliance, accounting, and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Professional proficiency in Spanish.
