Purpose of Job

Reporting to the VP, Sales & Distribution, Personal Segment, and working with senior sales management, the Associate Director, Sales Operations & Strategy is responsible for developing and implementing the sales force effectiveness strategy for the SFR Mortgage and Reverse Mortgage sales teams, and Wealth Solutions (Deposits, Reverse Mortgage). The role leads projects to grow and optimize our sales practice, improve operational efficiency, and increase productivity.

As the Associate Director of Sales Operations & Strategy, you are a proactive, hands-on leader who serves as a strategic partner to the sales leadership team. This role leads the Sales Operations and administration team, including Deposit Services, sales processes, and tools to drive sales force productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior Sales leadership to assess performance, provide insights, and recommend improvements (KPIs, productivity, commission administration, CRM, etc.).
  • Build and lead a high-performing team responsible for sales operations, reporting, sales productivity, and strategic analysis to enable the sales teams to exceed goals.
  • Assist in developing sales operational strategy and roadmaps for SFR Mortgage, Reverse Mortgage, and Wealth Solutions, including financial justification and overall design.
  • Provide leadership to the sales organization and counsel key stakeholders in implementing objectives that reflect business goals.
  • Drive planning and quota-setting processes with cross-functional teams to align with corporate goals and strategy.
  • Design, implement, and manage sales processes using best practices to ensure high quality, accuracy, and consistency in reporting, forecasting, quota setting, and sales process optimization.
  • Oversee creation, accuracy, and distribution of sales metrics, reports, and BI essential to the organization.
  • Assist in delivering new products and features within the sales force.
  • Maintain industry and competitive awareness to inform decision-making.
  • Break down strategic problems, analyze data, and provide insights and recommendations.
  • Enhance business operations processes covering applications, data, reporting, field engagement, and project/change management.
  • Build relationships across field leadership and cross-functional departments to influence decisions and drive process optimization and salesforce effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to ensure tools and technology meet the needs of a growing sales organization.
  • Lead the design, articulation, and implementation of sales force operational strategy and roadmaps.
  • Provide day-to-day support for sales teams, including monitoring uptime and performance of CRM and key databases (including commission administration).
  • Accountable for monthly business analytics packages and related presentations (Mortgage, CSV, Deposits).
  • Drive and manage projects end-to-end; monitor industry developments and competitor offerings in CSV, Deposits, Mortgage, and REM.
  • Ensure regulatory and legal compliance; lead the sales operations team to maintain in-scope, timely, high-quality capabilities.
  • Translate directives and customer needs into backlog items; act as the primary source of external information for project teams with clear definitions of capabilities and requirements.
  • Develop and refine sales operational roadmaps; authorize backlog items and future improvements with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Manage engagement with bank stakeholders and communicate product release contents and journey expectations.
  • Facilitate problem solving day-to-day with development on implementation challenges; coach team members and support their development.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Commerce, Management, Economics, Finance, or related field. CPA/MBA or other graduate degree is a plus.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in sales, strategy, sales operations, finance, or management consulting, including people management.
  • Familiarity with mortgage, deposits, insurance, and/or unsecured lending is a plus.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to lead through influence and credibility; excellent presentation, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Solid leadership skills with demonstrated ability to drive impact across teams.
  • Strong business acumen and financial literacy; ability to identify opportunities to drive scale, margins, and process improvements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven track record of management and leadership to drive operational efficiency with high accountability and reliability.
  • Strong strategic planning skills and sharp business judgment with strong execution.
  • Proactive learner with self-starter mentality and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Power BI/Power Query, and CRM tools.

The incumbent will work in a hybrid model; in-office time will be spent at 2200-25 Ontario Street, Toronto, ON.
