Intertek is a leading Total Quality Assurance provider supporting industries worldwide. Our Minerals business provides laboratory testing, inspection and technical services to the global mining industry.

Position Overview

We are seeking safety‑focused and reliable Laboratory Technicians to join our Digest Department in Maddington. This is a hands‑on opportunity to build practical laboratory skills, receive on‑the‑job training and develop your career within a global organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Weigh and prepare mineral samples for analysis
  • Conduct digestion processes using documented methods
  • Prepare laboratory acids and chemical reagents
  • Operate digest equipment and laboratory infrastructure
  • Monitor sample progress and meet turnaround times
  • Maintain accurate production and quality‑control records
  • Safely handle and dispose of chemicals and laboratory waste
  • Follow laboratory quality, safety and operational procedures
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area

Work Roster

  • 7 day shifts on, followed by 7 days off
  • 7 night shifts on, followed by 7 days off
  • 12‑hour shifts
  • Perth‑based at our Maddington laboratory

Requirements

  • Year 12 or an equivalent qualification
  • Certificate III or higher qualification in Laboratory Skills or Laboratory Techniques, or currently working towards one
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Understanding of laboratory and workplace safety
  • Basic computer skills
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Ability to work rotating day and night shifts

Previous minerals, geochemistry, environmental or commercial laboratory experience will be highly regarded.
