Role: Plant Engineer

Location: Virginia, Brisbane

Reports to: Kevin Darroch - Site Engineering & Maintenance Head

Key Responsibilities

  • Owns Site Asset Reliability and Performance, Site Energy & Sustainability outcomes and Capex projects.
  • Analyse equipment downtime and OEE data to identify reliability and improvement opportunities.
  • Converting data‑driven insight into well‑managed improvement projects.
  • Lead Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities.
  • Own site maintenance model and plans for improvements.
  • Drive predictive maintenance strategy and implementation.
  • Own site energy and sustainability reporting, including utility consumption, efficiency KPIs and carbon/emissions tracking.
  • Identify and lead energy optimisation initiatives across HVAC, compressed air, load balancing and equipment efficiency.
  • Prepare business cases and cost justification (CAPEX) for self‑originated improvement projects.
  • Act as Project Manager for small to medium automation, reliability and labour‑reduction projects.
  • Optimise CMMS configuration, data quality and reporting.
  • Maintain project documentation and validate post‑project performance against business case targets.

About You

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Chemical or Industrial Engineering.
  • 3–7 years' experience in a Plant, Reliability, Maintenance or Project Engineering role within FMCG, pharmaceutical, food or beverage manufacturing.
  • Experience improving asset reliability through RCM, RCA, preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use OEE and maintenance data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Proven experience delivering small to medium CAPEX and automation projects.
  • Knowledge of CMMS (SAP PM or similar), GMP and manufacturing safety standards.
  • Understanding of utilities, energy management and sustainability initiatives is desirable.
  • Strong project management, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
