Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to support the financial operations of our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, managing reconciliations, supporting budgeting processes, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong numerical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business to support sound financial decision-making.



Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and accounting documentation across multiple residential, nursing and dementia care homes.
  • Process and reconcile financial transactions, including bank accounts, invoices, expenses, journals and payments.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable activities, ensuring timely processing and resolution of queries.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies.
  • Monitor outstanding balances and support credit control activities
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare and post journals, accruals and prepayments as required
  • Support month-end and year-end financial closing processes.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities
  • Prepare management reports, financial summaries and performance analysis.
  • Monitor income and expenditure, identifying variances, trends and potential financial risks.
  • Support payroll preparation, reconciliation and related financial reporting activities.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
  • Assist with pension, taxation and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards and financial procedures.
  • Support financial governance and internal control processes.
  • Liaise with Care Home Managers, Operational Teams and UK Finance colleagues to resolve financial queries.
  • Produce ad hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and efficiencies.
  • Support finance projects, system implementations and process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all financial and business information.
  • Ensure all work is completed accurately, professionally and within agreed deadlines.
  • Build effective working relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Work collaboratively with UK-based teams while operating remotely from India.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with the right to practice accountancy
  • Ability to interpret and analyse financial statements and periodicals
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint,


etc.)
