Our client, a reputable organisation within the Probation Service, is hiring for a dedicated Administrative Officer to join their team in Manchester.
This role offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to community safety and support individuals on probation.
What you'll be doing:
- Serving as the first point of contact for visitors, callers, and emails, providing a welcoming and professional experience.
- Managing building logistics, including mail, supplies, meeting room bookings, and security protocols.
- Handling petty cash, travel warrants, and supporting transport arrangements for probation clients.
- Assisting with health and safety procedures, acting as Fire Warden/First Aider, and supporting building security.
- Logging faults, incidents, and maintenance issues, escalating as necessary to ensure a safe environment.
- Providing confidential administrative support to operational teams, including data entry, document production, and file management.
- Supporting safeguarding and risk management activities, recognising and responding to potential issues with tact and diplomacy.
What you'll bring:
- Proven ICT skills across Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.
- Commitment to diversity, equality, and confidentiality.
Desirable skills and experience:
- Experience working within criminal justice or high-pressure environments.
Required education and qualifications:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
- IT qualification such as ECDL/CLAIT (desirable).
All candidates will undergo security and identity checks.
External candidates will be on a 6-month probation period; internal candidates may also be subject to probation if not already completed.
