The Administration Assistant provides administrative support to the Tax Accountant and broader team. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain practical experience in a professional office environment, particularly in taxation, accounting or finance. It would suit a student seeking hands-on experience, or someone who wishes to contribute their skills and give back to the community.

A commitment of 1-2 days per week is required. The role offers an opportunity to learn from an experienced Tax Accountant while supporting a range of administrative activities that may vary from week to week.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with preparing correspondence and other documentation.
• Support tax-related administrative activities as required.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
• Monitor and respond to emails as required.

Qualifications and skills (desired/required)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Words, Excel, Outlook)
• Basic tax knowledge or an interest in taxation is required.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to learn new systems and processes.
• Good written communication skills.
• Professional approach to confidentiality and compliance requirements.

This role will give volunteers an opportunity to continue to develop skills and build experience in administration, use of systems and software, reporting and some volunteer engagement activities. Additionally, there will be access to a range of training opportunities and insight to the work of a large not-for-profit religious organisation with expressions in many different areas of society.
