Job Title: Travel RN Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg - Detox Duration: 13-week contract Shift: 19:00-07:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year preferred, 3-5 years recommended License: Active RN License in Tennessee required Certifications: BLS, ALS, PALS, additional handling care certification required after hire Must-Have Skills/Experience: Patient care of all ages Bedside shift report IV access Description: This position focuses on detox, with preference given to candidates who have experience with CIWA/COWS. The unit provides care for patients with substance abuse, polysubstance abuse, and underlying behavioral conditions.

Common diagnoses include alcohol withdrawal, hypertension, seizures, and cognitive changes. Treatment protocols may involve medications such as valium tapers, subutex, vivitrol, and banana bags, among others. Nurses may be responsible for assisting with bedside procedures such as picc lines and midlines.

Each nurse will typically care for a case load of seven patients. All clinical staff are expected to follow hospital standards and complete required audits and processes. Staff should be willing to learn and adapt while supporting current team members and respecting department expectations.

Successful candidates will maintain professionalism, ask questions when uncertain, and help improve processes. Candidates should be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and exhibit calmness in chaotic situations. Education expectations will be addressed during the contract term.
