What You’ll Do

Americold is recruiting a commercially driven Commercial Analyst – Transport to optimise transport performance, cost efficiency, and customer profitability across our Australian operations. You’ll own transport pricing, carrier management, and freight cost modelling, partnering with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and BD to drive better commercial outcomes. This role suits a proactive analyst who thrives on solving problems and building frameworks from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and negotiate carrier rates, contracts, and performance
  • Build and maintain transport pricing and cost models
  • Identify cost drivers (linehaul, last mile, fuel) and optimisation opportunities
  • Deliver reporting on transport performance, trends, and KPIs
  • Conduct customer and lane‑level profitability analysis
  • Support tenders, renewals, and commercial decision‑making
  • Monitor yield and address margin leakage
  • Develop dashboards and insights (Excel, Power BI, TMS)
  • Ensure rate accuracy, compliance, and resolve billing issues
  • Contribute to network optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Experience in transport, logistics, or supply chain environments
  • Understanding of transport cost structures (linehaul, fuel, accessorials)
  • Proven experience in pricing, modelling, or data analysis
  • Advanced Excel and Power BI/Tables experience
  • Exposure to TMS and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle)
  • Knowledge of KPIs (cost/km, DIFOT, utilisation)
  • Strong analytical mindset with commercial acumen
  • Confident working across stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment
  • Passion for driving efficiency through data and insights
