Trainee Accountant Greater Belfast

We are delighted to be partnering with a leading construction and civil engineering business to recruit a Trainee Accountant for their finance team based on the outskirts of Belfast.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity within a small finance team, offering a varied role across both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. You'll support purchase ledger, payment runs, reconciliations, month-end reporting and wider finance activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the purchase ledger and process supplier invoices
• Process monthly payment runs and deal with supplier queries
• Manage purchase orders and liaise with internal budget holders
• Complete stock and intercompany reconciliations
• Prepare daily and month-end financial reports
• Assist with intercompany recharges and invoice financing
• CIS and RCT Returns
• Support month-end management accounts and annual statutory accounts

Who We're Looking For

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role
• Experience across both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Sage experience
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Construction background needed
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
