Test Development Engineer
Nanopower Semiconductor
Job Description
Join Nanopower Semiconductor and shape the future of ultra-low-power integrated circuits
Nanopower Semiconductor is developing breakthrough semiconductor technology that enables a new generation of ultra-low-power electronic systems. Our proprietary technology dramatically reduces the power consumption, allowing battery-powered and energy-harvesting devices to operate for significantly longer while opening new possibilities for IoT, medical devices, industrial sensors and other power-constrained applications.
We are growing our test engineering capabilities and seeking an experienced Test Development Engineer to take ownership of ATE/production test programs for current and next-generation semiconductor products.
This role is central to both our manufacturing organization and our R&D activities, giving you the opportunity to directly influence product quality, production efficiency, and future product development.
As a Test Development Engineer, you will develop, validate, and optimize automated test solutions for mixed-signal semiconductor devices on industry-standard ATE platforms. You will play a key role in ensuring product quality, yield, test coverage, and manufacturing efficiency throughout the product lifecycle.
We seek candidates with hands-on experience developing ATE programs on Teradyne and/or Advantest platforms and who will be comfortable working in an environment where innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence are highly valued.
As an ATE Test Development Engineer, you will:
- Develop, debug, validate, release, and maintain ATE test programs for wafer sort and final test.
- Program on Advantest and/or Teradyne ATE platforms.
- Help define production test strategies, guard bands, limits, and screening methodologies
- Analyse test results and improve test coverage, test time, and production yield.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) activities from silicon bring-up through production release. Including characterization, qualification, and silicon validation of new devices
- Be a part of a test engineering team working closely with IC design and application engineering teams.
- Contribute to DFT (Design-for-Test) discussions during new product development.
- Participate in root-cause analysis of production and yield issues.
- Support transfer of new products from engineering to volume production.
- Collaborate with external manufacturing and OSAT partners.
We are looking for someone with:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with Advantest and/or Teradyne testers.
- Programming experience relevant to ATE environments.
- Understanding of and experience with semiconductor device characterization and production test methodologies.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional international team.
- Good communication skills in English.
It is an advantage if you have experience with:
- Ultra-low-power integrated circuits.
- Python or other scripting languages used for automation.
- Design-for-Test (DFT) methodologies.
- Collaboration with OSATs and global manufacturing partners.
What we offer
At Nanopower Semiconductor you will join a highly skilled team working on technology that pushes the boundaries of energy-efficient electronics. You will have the opportunity to:
- Develop products that significantly reduce global battery consumption and environmental impact.
- Play a key role in bringing innovative semiconductor products into high-volume production.
- Work across both R&D and manufacturing, influencing the complete product lifecycle.
- Collaborate with experienced and genuinely nice engineers in IC design, product engineering and applications.
- Help build a growing international semiconductor company with global ambitions.
- Work in an innovative, flexible, and collaborative environment with significant technical responsibility.
Location
The preferred location is Porto, Portugal, where key engineering teams and resources are based.
Qualified candidates based elsewhere in Europe will also be considered.
