Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group has an immediate need for a Temp-to-Perm Energy Credit Analyst Specialist in Houston, TX. Overview: Our client is looking for an experienced Energy Credit Analyst with experience with Energy derivatives experience at a top tier financial services firm or energy provider. Company: Financial services, global hedge fund firm based in New York City.
Experience: Successful candidates will have a minimum of 5 plus years of experience with a large, global hedge fund, major bank or energy provider. Location: The role is full-time 5-days per week in Houston. Occasional remote work available as needed.
Responsibilities Include: 40 hours a week expected; Occasional overtime as needed. Works with company origination leads to drive thoughtful credit risk/reward across the business This role will work directly with the portfolio leads Identify and provide analysis of the right credit risk/reward opportunities Negotiate credit and counterparty risk terms of master agreements with derivative counterparties Write credit underwriting memos for strategic transactions Maintain and expand sector-specific credit rating methodologies Drive innovation & further development of the credit risk toolset Review and assist with negotiation of sell-side commodities credit risks ( to include: ISDA, EEI, EEIS,NASIDIS…) in all aspects, across multiple jurisdictions, including international, for final review and approval to be performed by legal. Cross-functional liaison with front-office reporting and interaction regularly: Collaborate with internal teams (trading, operations, treasury) to support project management components of the commodities trading process Negotiate credit and counter-party risk terms of master agreements with derivative counter-parties Write credit underwriting memos for strategic transactions Maintain and expand sector-specific credit rating methodologies Drive innovation & further development of the credit risk toolset.
Qualifications 5 plus years of derivatives experience from a top-tier financial institution (Bank, Fund, or major energy supplier).
