Business Analyst (Finance Technology)

Contract Role South Dublin ( Hybrid 3 days onsite)

We are seeking a hands-on Business Analyst with approximately 4-6 years' experience within the financial services industry, ideally supporting finance, regulatory reporting, or technology transformation initiatives.

The Job:

• This is a technology-focused Business Analyst role, suited to someone who combines strong analytical and documentation skills with a practical understanding of data, systems, and software delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, developers, testers, and project teams to deliver technology solutions that support regulatory and finance reporting requirements.
• The ideal candidate will have experience gathering and documenting business requirements, producing Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Functional Specifications, analysing complex data, and translating business needs into clear technical requirements. They should be comfortable working throughout the full project lifecycle, supporting development teams during implementation and partnering with testing teams through system integration and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Candidates should possess strong SQL skills and be confident querying and analysing large datasets to support investigations, reconciliations, data validation, and solution design. Experience using visual BI or ETL tools (such as Alteryx, Informatica, or similar no-code/low-code platforms) to develop simple data solutions and support business processes is highly desirable.
• The role requires someone who is comfortable working in a collaborative Agile environment, helping developers and testers understand business requirements, reviewing test scenarios and test cases, and ensuring solutions meet business expectations. A proactive approach to documentation, process analysis, and continuous improvement is essential.
• Exposure to finance or regulatory reporting initiatives, including areas such as capital reporting, COREP, FINREP, AnaCredit, or other regulatory reporting frameworks, would be advantageous, alongside an understanding of financial products and investment banking operations.

Key experience includes:

• 4-6 years' Business Analysis experience within financial services.
• Strong business and technical analysis skills with a technology-focused approach.
• Experience producing BRDs, Functional Specifications, process documentation, and data mapping.
• Strong SQL skills for data analysis, reconciliation, and validation.
• Experience supporting developers and QA teams throughout delivery.
• Hands-on involvement in User Acceptance Testing, including creating and reviewing test scenarios and test cases.
• Experience using visual BI or ETL tools (e.g. Alteryx, Informatica, or similar) to build simple solutions.
• Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across business and technology teams.
• Ability to analyse business processes and use data-driven insights to support successful project delivery.
• Exposure to regulatory reporting or finance technology initiatives is desirable.
