Job Description

This is a 5 month fixed term, part-time (0.8FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2026 with possible permanency

Dongara District High School (DHS) is a proud Independent Public School in the Mid-West Education Region.

We are proud of our academic programs and to supplement the very high standard of delivery of these programs we offer our students the opportunity to participate in extension programs using online learning through the School of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE) for years 11-12 and on site delivery of Primary Extension and Challenge (PEAC) in Geraldton for years 4-6. Participation of these programs are by invitation and based on testing outcomes. Year 7 students are provided with a comprehensive transition program in readiness for entering secondary school.

We have a partnership with tertiary institutions through the ASPIRE program which supports our academic year 9 and 11 students to identify university pathways.

The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed educator to take on the role of a Year 4 and 5 teacher. The ideal applicant will have a strong understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) practices and Classroom Management Strategies (CMS).

High-level interpersonal skills are highly desirable, as the role involves working collaboratively with colleagues, students, and families to create a positive and engaging learning environment. Familiarity with contemporary pedagogy and the use of High Impact Teaching Strategies (HITS) would also be beneficial in delivering effective, student-centred learning programs that meet a diverse range of needs.

This role presents an exciting opportunity for an educator who is reflective, flexible, and committed to ongoing professional growth within a collaborative school community. Experience with neurodivergent students is highly regarded.
