Job Description

This is a 6‑month fixed‑term, full‑time position commencing Term 3, 2026, with possible extension and/or permanency.

Note: This position is advertised as part of a recruitment pilot designed to simplify the application process for teachers. A mandatory CV template is provided for use. Application requirements include character‑limited responses to address only two Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) domains at application stage.

The remaining AITSL domain will be assessed as part of the further assessment stage for shortlisted applicants only.

The School

At Manjimup Senior High School (SHS) our approach to learning recognises the uniqueness of individuals and the importance of building relationships. The school is located in an expansive setting with general and specialised classrooms, science laboratories, and a Trades Training Centre.

The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Mathematics Teacher to join our friendly school. The successful applicant will be skilled in instructional and curriculum design, possess a strong knowledge of the Western Australian curriculum, and be highly informed of the latest developments within this domain. They will utilise strong interpersonal skills to provide students with high‑quality delivery within the Mathematics area, reflect on the effectiveness of their teaching practice, and cultivate a safe and encouraging learning environment.

The teacher will set high expectations for themselves and their students, commit to excellence, and use a range of pedagogies to enhance outcomes. An ability to adapt, be self‑motivated, and engage with new opportunities will be highly regarded. Collaboration within the Mathematics Department and across the school is desirable.

Requirements

  • Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or hold a valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start.
  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
