Shelford Campus

Opening in 2027 in the heart of Caulfield, Shelford Campus willbe Caulfield Grammar School’s newest Junior School. The campus willinitially offer exceptional education for students in Prep andYears 4–6, before growing into a full Prep to Year 6 Junior School.This represents a once‑in‑a‑career opportunity for a foundingteaching team to shape the culture and community from the groundup, delivering high‑impact learning in an outstanding purpose‑builtenvironment.

The Role

The Librarian will play a key role in supporting a vibrant,knowledge‑rich learning environment that reflects the School’svalues, culture and commitment to excellence.

This is an exciting opportunity to help establish the library atour new Shelford Campus and create a vibrant learning hub at theheart of our community.

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Campus, the Librarian will workcollaboratively with teachers to foster a love of reading whiledeveloping students' information literacy, research skills anddigital citizenship. Through engaging library programs and learningexperiences, you will support students to become confident, capableand ethical users of information.

Working with students from Prep to Year 6 in our beautifullyrenovated library, you will create a welcoming and inspiringenvironment that encourages curiosity, inquiry and independentlearning. As a founding member of the Shelford team, you will playa key role in shaping a library program that inspires a lifelonglove of reading and learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging learning programs that promoteinformation literacy, research skills and a love ofreading.
• Support the integration of ICT and digital resources intoteaching and learning programs, enhancing student engagementand access to information.
• Create and maintain a welcoming, inclusive andinformation‑rich library environment that supports the needs ofthe school community.
• Foster a culture of reading, inquiry and curiosity,encouraging students to explore a wide range of literature andresources.
• Manage and promote access to print and digital informationresources through effective and professionally‑managed librarysystems.
• Support students to develop ethical practices in the use ofinformation and digital technologies.
• Implement different approaches to meet the diverse learningneeds, abilities and backgrounds of all students.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, learning leaders andother stakeholders to enhance teaching practice and studentoutcomes.
• Actively contribute to professional learning, collaborationand continuous improvement initiatives across the School.
• Develop ways for the library to connect with the localcommunity.
• Maintain a safe, supportive and respectful learningenvironment in line with School policies and practices.
• Uphold the School’s commitment to Child Safety, ensuringthe wellbeing, safety and dignity of all students at alltimes.
• Demonstrate active participation in School life and modelthe values of Caulfield Grammar School.

Skills and Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Library & InformationManagement and/or Education.
• Experience in a school library or educational setting,supporting teaching and learning programs.
• Strong understanding of information literacy, researchskills and the role of libraries in contemporaryeducation.
• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver engaging,differentiated learning programs that support diverselearners.
• Experience integrating ICT into teaching and learningprograms.
• Highly developed communication, organisational and timemanagement skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to buildpositive relationships with students, staff and the widerschool community.
• Commitment to professional learning, collaboration andcontinuous improvement.
• A proactive, approachable and service‑oriented mindset,with a commitment to supporting the needs of the schoolcommunity.
