Sushi Chef – Weekend Shifts (Urgent) | Osakana – East Village & Katagiri, NYC

Osakana is a Japanese-style fresh fish market in the East Village, also operating at Katagiri 59th St and Katagiri Lexington Ave. We're urgently hiring sushi chefs for weekend shifts. Start immediately.

What you'll do

Make sushi, sashimi, and takeout sushi; handle and manage fresh fish (including freezing/thawing); keep the station sanitary; open and close.

Requirements

• Available Saturdays and/or Sundays (required)
• 1+ year of sushi or fish-handling experience
• Legally authorized to work in the US (no visa sponsorship)
• Able to commute to East Village, 59th St, or Lexington Ave
• Punctual and reliable. Consistent attendance matters here.
• Food Handler certification a plus

Pay & Benefits

• $23–$25/hr, based on experience
• Full-time and part-time available
• Family meal provided
• Paid sick leave
• Wages paid through payroll (no cash)

Shifts

• Katagiri 59th St, weekend: 7:30am–3:30pm ★ priority
• Katagiri Lexington Ave, weekend: 7:30am–3:30pm ★ priority
• East Village, weekend: 9:00am–5:00pm
• East Village, weekday morning: start 6–7am, end 2–3pm

Flexibility across locations is a plus, on weekdays, weekends, or both.
