What Youll Be Doing (position summary): As Senior Manager, Data and BI solutions you will oversee design, build, and deliver high-quality data assets, pipelines, models, and analytics-ready datasets. This role leverages expertise in Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and PowerBI to build and optimize data pipelines and analytics solutions. The incumbent works with large data sets utilizing Python, PySpark, and SAS, and applies sound data modeling principles to enable effective data management and reporting.
You will partner with business stakeholders to provide reporting, dashboards, and ad hoc analysis, supporting a variety of business functions. How Youll Succeed (responsibilities): Team Leadership: Manage, coach, and develop a team of data engineers and analytics professionals. Data solutions: Oversee the design, development, and delivery of key data assets and business intelligence solutions Data Quality: Implement and monitor data controls to ensure high data quality and compliance. Analytics & Insights: Lead complex analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable recommendations.
Project Management: Lead or participate in cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with business partners to understand needs and deliver value-added solutions. Set appropriate context when assigning work to ensure that individuals roles support the achievement of the business units priorities and CIBCs overall goals.
Build team and individual capabilities by providing development opportunities such as job shadowing, special projects, and training. Manage performance by providing fair and accurate formal and informal feedback, identifying and removing obstacles to performance and by explaining how performance expectations align with business priorities. Create a positive work environment and be an effective role model by championing CIBCs mission, vision, and values.
Ensure compliance with policies, standards, guidelines, and controls by applying the policies and controls fairly and consistently so employees understand what to expect. Hire the right people in the right jobs to align individual capabilities with job requirements and business unit goals. CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Engage with CIBC PBB Data and AI teams, Enterprise Advanced Analytics & AI and Platform teams, Enterprise Technology teams, Client Account Management, and other Business teams to deliver integrated data solutions.

As a manager of people, this job has the authority to assign tasks to employees within their span of control, select individuals for hire, assess individual performance, make employee compensation decisions and take disciplinary measures up to and including termination. JOB DIMENSIONS; People manager role focused on the achievement of business unit goals through advanced technical expertise and solution delivery. Experience: 10+ years of experience.
Who You Are (skills/qualifications): Must Have Skills: 10+ years in data/analytics roles, with 3+ years of people management experience. Advanced knowledge of data engineering, analytics, and reporting. Proficiency in SQL, Python, cloud platforms, and BI tools.
Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills. Hands on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, PowerBI, Unity Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
