Senior Managing Accountant (SMSF) | Future Partnership Opportunity

About the Opportunity

A highly regarded regional Accounting and Business Advisory firm is seeking an experienced SMSF professional to join its leadership team in a senior capacity. This role offers the opportunity to lead and develop a growing SMSF function, mentor junior staff, work closely with Partners, and contribute to the strategic growth of the business. For the right individual, there is a genuine pathway towards partnership.

About the Role

Working closely with senior leadership, you will take ownership of a portfolio of Self-Managed Super Funds while providing technical expertise, leadership, and commercial insight across the practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing and reviewing SMSF financial statements, tax returns, and audit-ready files
• Leading, mentoring, and developing junior team members
• Maintaining compliance with SMSF legislation and regulatory requirements
• Managing workflow, resource allocation, and team performanceBuilding and maintaining strong client relationships
• Supporting business development and identifying growth opportunities
• Assisting with client meetings, strategic advice, and partner-level initiatives
• Driving process improvements and operational efficiencies

About You

To be successful, you will ideally possess:

• 10+ years' experience within public practice accounting and/or SMSF advisory
• CA or CPA qualification
• Strong technical knowledge of SMSF legislation and compliance requirements
• Extensive experience managing SMSF portfolios
• High proficiency with BGL and related practice management systems
• Proven leadership and team development experience
• Strong commercial acumen and client relationship skills
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with aspirations towards leadership
