Overview
Title: Senior Transmission Line Engineer
Location: Remote US
Ready to make a difference? We are seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to support and advance our growing transmission engineering practice. In this role, you will provide senior‑level technical expertise, lead complex design and analysis work, mentor junior engineers, and ensure high‑quality deliverables across a wide range of transmission line engineering projects for utility clients.
What You Will Be Doing
- Lead and oversee complex transmission line designs from conceptual engineering through final design, including EFM, conductor sizing, induction, impedance, losses, and voltage drop analysis.
- Provide senior‑level technical expertise and direction to design staff, ensuring technical accuracy, best practices, and industry‑leading design solutions.
- Perform key engineering studies such as conductor economic evaluations, lightning performance, grounding calculations, and electrical clearance determinations per NESC and applicable standards.
- Interpret and apply regulatory requirements including NERC, FERC, and regional standards, and ensure compliance across project deliverables.
- Prepare and review technical documentation such as specifications, data sheets, RFQs, bid evaluations, vendor drawings, and purchase recommendations.
- Collaborate with project managers on scopes, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, construction support, and change order management.
- Perform and review QA/QC for engineering deliverables, production drawings, CAD outputs, and construction administration activities, resolving design‑related field issues.
- Conduct and lead field inspections, measurements, calculations, and installation reviews for both public and private clients.
- Develop and present technical reports, support marketing and business development efforts, and build strong relationships with clients and contractors.
- Provide mentorship, leadership, and guidance to less experienced engineers, ensuring effective cross‑discipline communication and adherence to company safety, quality, and performance standards.

Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, or Power Engineering (or related field)
- 5+ years of transmission line engineering experience (design, analysis, modeling, or similar)
- 5+ years of experience working with an electric utility, EPC, or engineering consulting firm
- 5+ years of experience working in PLS‑CADD
Preferred Qualifications
- People management and mentorship experience
- Experience directing and reviewing the work of others for quality assurance and delivering constructive feedback
- Knowledge of the practical application of industry standards such as: NESC, IEEE, ANSI, FERC‑881, and FAC‑008 standards
- Ability to plan and manage assignments and clearly communicate barriers to complete tasks on budget/schedule
- Initiative to embrace continuous learning toward becoming an expert on the programs and services you represent

Pay Range
The pay range for this position based on full‑time employment is: $98,614.00 - $245,448.00. The final pay is determined by factors including relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies, geographic location, education, and contractual provisions.
