Senior Tax Accountant

Tax Senior — Kells, Co. Meath or Virginia, Co. Cavan

A well-established accountancy practice with offices in Dublin, Meath and Cavan is looking for a Tax Senior to work alongside the Tax Partner across a broad mix of consultancy and compliance assignments. This role is based in either our Kells or Virginia office.

It's a role with real room to grow — you'll get exposure across all tax heads, take on your own client engagements, and start developing the junior staff beneath you.

What you'll be doing — technical

• Preparing complex income tax, corporation tax and partnership returns
• Reviewing returns prepared by tax trainees and junior staff
• Acting as a technical point of reference for the team
• Carrying out tax research across straightforward and complex queries
• Working with colleagues on tax planning for personal, corporate and partnership clients
• Reviewing Revenue correspondence and drafting responses
• Contributing to the firm's articles, blogs and client updates

What you'll be doing — supervisory

• Delegating to and supervising trainees and junior staff, setting clear expectations
• Acting as key client contact on smaller engagements
• Supporting training across the tax department
• Getting involved in wider department and firm-level projects
• Building your own network and helping cultivate referral business

What you'll need

• Full tax qualification (AITI/CTA), or in the final stages of your exams
• At least two years in a busy tax department
• Solid grounding in current Irish tax legislation and compliance obligations
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work to deadlines
