Job Description- Maintenance Technician

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering team within a busy food manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance across plant equipment, facilities and services, ensuring equipment reliability, food safety standards and efficient production operations are maintained.

Job Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on production equipment, plant and facilities.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs to minimise production downtime.
• Perform calibration and testing of plant equipment, alarms and instrumentation.
• Complete maintenance activities and records using the CMMS.
• Liaise with contractors to ensure maintenance work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Manage spare parts and maintenance materials to support plant reliability.
• Operate permit-to-work systems, including LOTO and hot works permits.
• Support planned shutdowns and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Health & Safety, Quality and Food Safety requirements.

Job Requirements

• Previous maintenance experience within a food manufacturing or food production environment is essential.
• Multi-skilled maintenance experience with strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience supporting preventative maintenance programmes and using CMMS.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and GMP standards within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work
