Broadridge Trading and Connectivity Solutions (BTCS), is seeking an experienced senior software developer in the Vancouver area to join the NYFIX development team with 8 or more years of C++ experience. The team works on the BTCS NYFIX FIX Marketplace and related products. The FIX Marketplace provides FIX connectivity for a large global community of buy sides, sell sides, and vendors.
It is an industry leader in FIX connectivity with thousands of FIX connections and over 10,000 channels between those connections. The network also offers value added services such as custom manipulation of FIX messages, security ID translation, post‑trade matching, etc.
You will have the opportunity to take on major responsibilities and work on all aspects of the software development lifecycle (product specification, design, implementation, unit testing, performance testing, etc.).
The team follows a hybrid work schedule with typically one or two days in the office each week. The development team also provides level 3 production support, so team members may occasionally be requested to participate in calls outside of normal business hours.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
A bachelor’s degree is required in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
At least 8 years of experience in C++ on Linux/Unix.
Strong C++ expertise.
In‑depth experience with multi‑threaded programming.
Experience programming high‑performance, high‑throughput, low‑latency applications.
Performance troubleshooting and tuning experience.
Linux/Unix proficiency including shell scripting.
Important Technical Skills
FIX application development experience.
Hands‑on experience with a FIX engine.
Programming order management, order routing, trading, risk management, or similar financial services applications.
Middleware application development experience (TibRV, MQ, 29 West LBM, Solace, etc.).
STL experience.
Database application development experience (Oracle, Sybase, MySQL, etc.).
Core Java experience.
Optional Technical Skills
FIX engine development experience.
Perl.
Boost.
Experience with development tools that aid in debugging, locating memory errors, performance analysis, etc.
Compensation
Salary Range: CAD $100,000 – $120,000. Compensation may vary depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
