What you'll do

  • Lead the design and architecture of complex software systems, ensuring they meet both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project scope and deliverables, translating business needs into technical specifications.
  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
  • Drive the implementation of best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.
  • Oversee the integration of new technologies and tools into the existing architecture, ensuring seamless functionality and performance.
  • Analyze system performance and identify areas for optimization, implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept through deployment and maintenance, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software.
  • Engage in troubleshooting and debugging of complex issues, providing expert-level support to resolve technical challenges.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to enhance deployment processes and improve system reliability and uptime.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact on our systems and processes.
  • Contribute to the development of technical roadmaps and strategic planning initiatives, aligning engineering efforts with business objectives.
  • Act as a technical liaison between engineering and other departments, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on system architecture and design.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript, with a deep understanding of software development principles.
  • Extensive experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and microservices architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of database technologies, both SQL and NoSQL, and experience with data modeling and management.
  • Proven track record of leading software development teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and familiarity with CI/CD practices.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
